How It’s Made

Laser Cut

Every component of our wood puzzles and mandalas are laser cut from premium Baltic birch. This gives each detailed design, and puzzle piece, unique coloring and characteristics due to the small difference in wood grain in every layer. Each Puzzle and Mandala takes has their own associated cut and assembly time. It all depends on how creative the rabbit’s got with their designs! There were many options for manufacturing, but laser cutting achieved the precise edging we needed for the mechanisms. And who can resist those roasty toasty edges. (Mmmmm burnt wood!)

Hand Assembled

Every Puzzle and Mandala is hand assembled by our in-house team. Assembly for the 10 layers of intricate designed and cut wood layers- on a good day when the Dr Pepper and crawfish are flowing – is just shy of 2 hours. Then comes the curing time for the adhesives, which adds about a full day. Check out the video for a time warp assembly of each of the 10 layers of the ‘Burnt Lace’ Mandala design!

Field Tested

The last step in the process is testing. All the previous steps are for naught if the mechanisms aren’t functional or calibrated. By bringing each Puzzle and Mandala to local art markets for live playability, we ensure that every design is 100% functional, ready to play, and ready to roll!
